Without Remember me, your login uses a browser session cookie (no fixed expiry). The browser usually clears it when you quit the browser entirely—not always when you close a single tab, because all open tabs share the same session. Use Logout on shared computers.

With Remember me, you can stay signed in for up to 5 days while you keep using the site.
